Legendary producer, reggae and dub pioneer, king of the remix, the upsetter, the genius, the madman.
Rainford Hugh Perry, better known as Lee “Scratch” Perry was one of the most influential and groundbreaking producers of all time.
He gave Bob Marley his musical direction, inspiring him to be the Rasta Rebel he is known as. He pioneered recording techniques still in use today. Lee Perry also put out what is regarded as the first Dub album.
He continued recording and touring right up until his death in 2021. aged 85.
