A short documentary shedding light on sound system culture in New York through the lens of Dub-Stuy, a Brooklyn-based music collective. Shot during the latter part of the pandemic, the film focuses on key members of the collective as they plan an outdoor event using their sound system as a microphone for their community.
Featuring interviews by collective founder Quoc Pham, as well as affiliated artists JonnyGo Figure, Hilla Bundem and Blakkamoore.
This film is part of “Come on In”, a docuseries that celebrates the life and color of America’s diverse cultures. Following three stories in Chicago, Atlanta and Brooklyn, “Come on in ” is a love letter to the irrepressible American spirit, and how passions can unite people to create communities that inspire and amplify their voices.
